As part of the City of Bern's week of action against racism, café révolution is hosting a Safer Space workshop:
People don't talk about money... So we will. We're breaking the taboo by opening up a dialogue around money and (un)equal opportunities in society.
In this workshop, we will focus on financial challenges from the BiPOC TINFA community and provide tips for questions of everyday financial matters.
Program
1.45 p.m. Door opening
2.00 p.m. Start and welcome
2.10 p.m. Introduction to the topic by Eleni and Naomi from café révolution
As the topic of money and the gaps in knowledge about the monetary system is very sensitive and personal, we want to ensure that there is enough time and space to create an atmosphere that is as safe as possible and free from judgment and assumptions.
To start, we will reflect on our personal relationship with money and illuminate the aspects of money systems. We will also create space for sharing knowledge and tools.
Bf you have specific questions or would like to go into more detail on a particular topic, you can let us know in the registration form or bring this up at any time during the workshop. If you wish you can also bring specific documents with you, e.g. tax return, pension documents, salary statement, etc., so that we can deal with them directly.
3.00 p.m. Finance 101 with Angelyne Larcher, founder and CEO of Fea Money
Angelyne will guide us through the second part of the afternoon. In a short presentation, she explains why it is important to deal with your own finances.
She will also outline the first steps you can take in dealing with your personal finances and present the practical tools that can help.
